    Top of the coop roosting

    I have built a beautiful raised coop for my girls with an inside room nicely lined with straw and with boxes for laying, but my girls just want to sit huddled together on top of the coop at night. Why don't they want to go inside?

    I just wanted to say thank you. I put the girls into a pen in the coop for about two weeks and last weekend I opened it up. They are venturing out and establiishing their territory in the flock. I appreciate your feedback.

    I am new to the forum and also new to chickens. I bought four chicks, raised them in my house. When they were fully featheterd I sent them out to their beautiful newly built coop and run.
