    Yes I agree entirely. That said, while I'm in the process of moving, I've weighed the cost/benefit of simply finding them a new home where someone can get a great deal and be ready to rock and roll. I've decided to simply go with broilers from here on once I'm settled anyway.

    Well, one of them anyway. 7 of them were 10 days old. Oddly, the survivor was the only 4 day old. By that meaning of the 3 which were in trouble but alive. 3 were ok on arrival.

    Well, that was fast. 2 passed and the 3rd recovered once in the incubator. The survivors are now in the brooding box eating, drinking, and sleeping. Thanks all for the quick replies! Should this happen again in the future I'll just be placing in the incubator.

    My 1st hen is the most friendly of my flock! She sprints to the door of the run whenever we get close and insists on her offering of dried meal worms. Just got a rooster who's pretty stable and nice. Overall, pretty impressed with their temperament.
