Hi!
This is a basic question, but I failed math multiple times so I need the help!
We are ordering a new chicken coop custom built, what size is needed for 22 chickens including 6 bantams? Our flock is a mix of ameraucanas, salmon favorelles, Isa browns, white and barred rocks, and assorted...
I'm so sorry you lost your faverolles too. Since they have passed I have read so much about the salmon favorelles really not doing well in transport. I am in love with the breed they are so sweet and beautiful but knowing now that they don't survive transport well I don't think I will ever order...
I was doing a syringe for water, but hadn't thought to do it for food. I only had a children's tylenol syringe that I use for chicken care not tylenol. I will have to look that up.
So far everyone else is doing great, growing crazy fast and zooming around.
Thank you, it's so hard. She passed yesterday, wasn't eating in the morning when I put her in front of a small dish of chick starter wet with electrolytes and I knew it wouldn't be long. ☹️
Thanks, she's not eating or drinking unless I pick her up and place her in front of the food and water. She's just kind of flopping over to the side and won't stand on her own. The other two that died had the same issue, I'm wondering if it was something with the hatch, same breed all with the...
Really? It's too large totes joined together with the brooder plate on one side and the food on the other. It's 37" by 27". This is their started brooder and as they get bigger and it warms up here I move them to a much larger brooder box on our 3 season enclosed porch.
I got an order of chicks in the mail last week (Wednesday). A mix of White plymouth rocks, blue ameraucana, and salmon favorelles.
Thursday night two of the salmon favorelles died pretty suddenly, no signs of illness I am pretty sure it was just shipping stress. I have three more salmon...
Thank you!
I have been holding on to them but will keep doing some reading about it. Seems like the risk of feeding them eggs that will help worms build up a tolerance to the medicine is not a good idea, so will avoid that!
In good news, have found some worms in droppings so I know its working!
All chickens successfully treated! It was much easier than I imagine it would be, no fussing at all and they took the whole dose no problem.
One question I had is that during this egg withdrawl period, I hate to waste all these eggs. I have given them scraps of hardboiled egg before as a treat...
Thank you!
This is exactly what I was looking for. Will have to go out and get a digital scale today and then will dose them tomorrow early morning!
Thanks again!
