He lives close by, next town over with a strong agricultural history so no worries about neighbors crying about chickens. I'm assured that they will have a nice life, will be able to free range and live in a spacious coop 16x 20 with only 6 other chickens.
Thanks BCC and all others for your...
Final posting (crossing my fingers) friend of a friend of a friend is picking up my feathered children tomorrow. Spoke to him, sounds like a nice gentleman
Hi all,
Unfortunately Cenk's neighbors are grumbling about chickens so he must decline on the opportunity. So, I still have 12 New Hampshire Red hens and a Barred Rock roo looking for a new home.
If you can take all 13 they will come with a 12 pound galvanized feeder, 2 waterers - 1 5gal and...
And the latest update, due to concerns of neighborhood complaints the gentleman seeking to adopt my chickens must now decline.
SO.. once again..the offer is open.
Hi again all. Just wanted to give everyone who has responded to my original post that my flock is being adopted, all 13 of them. The communications I've had make me feel confident that they will be happy with their new family. Thank you to everyone who offered words of support and encouragement...
Oops, hit that reply button accidently. In any case, expanding at a later should not be difficult.
Tuesday will be fine, I will be around day. I'll send an email with the address.
Thank you so much for giving them a home and I feel comfortable trusting them to your family.
Thanks Cenk, I would really prefer that all go together. A little short term over crowding won't hurt them..if you have a run for them or allow them to free range then they'll only go inside to sleep. They have 16ft of roost in their coop and they have never used more than 8ft.
Thanks Teila, it is a bit unsettling. I've had Miles and the girls since they were newly hatched from McMurray's. Watching them endlessly in their little brooder, celebrating their first feathers. Talk about getting ready for an empty nest syndrome...literally. :( Oh..and discovering that at 5...
Evening Cenk. I'm about 30 miles south of the mass line off of I395/290. If traffic around Boston isn't driving you to tear your hair out then your drive should take 1.5 - 2 hours.
Just to clarify, you want all the chickens? Including the roo. And you are looking for eggs, not Sunday dinner...
NFC, your little GO chicks would have been shocked with cold and snow. Hope they're still enjoying their sunshine state of mind and hope you're not frozen.
DIVA, yes I have posted on one od the DR boards and keeping my fingers crosses. Last resort I would posts at Tractor Supply And Agway but I...
I have 12 New Hampshire Reds and 1 Barred Rock roo, 18 months old and in need of a new home. PICK UP ONLY. The girls are sweet friendly egg machines and the roo isn't too aggressive unless you're a 110lb lab too curious for your own good. Healthy chickens with free run of a fenced acre, good...
Hi Nutmeggers and any surrounding friends across borders.
I'm up in the quiet corner in Plainfield but must relocate out of CT in short notice. I have a flock of 12 New Hampshire Red hens and a Barred Rock roo I need to rehome. They're 18 month old, healthy egg machines. If you're intersted...
Thank you so much for the kind thoughts and the link. Hopefully I can get a new flock up soon but will miss my girls and miss the yelp when my roo kicks a 110lb lab. The dogs will miss them too (hens more than the roo I think).
Now that I've enjoyed their company I will always want to have them...
I've been a lurker for some time, nearly 2 years. Thanks to everyone for the pages of knowledge and valuable opinions.
Unfortunately I've got to leave CT and must give up my flock. I have 12 New Hampshire Red hens and 1 Barred Rock roo. All are 18 months old, in excellent health. The girls are...
