Hi all;
I understand that there is very little I can do in this situation but wanted to reach out and see if there's any advice to help make my quail's life as comfortable as possible.
During the holidays, I came home from work and noticed my white quail hobbling around. They were living with...
It's the only one I have, unfortunately. The temperature that reads off the hydrometer is off by a few degrees, so it's why I started to check with the infrared. It seems to be pretty accurate. (at least so far) It reads between 98.5-100.5° depending on where I aim it within the incubator.
Hello!
I am trying my luck at incubating button quail eggs again. I bought the same model I had, a Janoel 12 incubator.
I started incubating the eggs in the afternoon on Dec. 9. Today marks day 3 into day 4 for them. I know candling isn't going to show me much at this time so I am waiting til...
Hello!
So due to unfortunate events (this month has been rough), we can no longer keep our mountain quail in our current living space. Trying to keep them just seems like a poor choice as they lack the appropriate room to be comfortable. I want to give them to anyone who can accommodate for...
Thank you all for this information! We will be waiting for some time before deciding. We can easily predator-proof our coop so I don't think that will be an issue. In regards to the cat itself, I may also try to reach out to any local farm / shelters that also have poultry along with dogs and...
Hello- it's been two years since I have last used this site. Happy to see it is still active. :)
I have been trying to gather some information on this and I thought this forum would be a good place to ask.
We want to eventually introduce a kitten into our family. We unfortunately no longer...
Long time no see, and hopefully everyone had a good holiday!
My partner and I were gifted two diamond dove eggs and although we currently own one female diamond dove, we were going to try and incubate the eggs ourselves. We are setting up our incubator now. I've tried to look into what are...
I'm posting an update to this:
We are down to 5 roos. I know roos aren't as popular but if anyone is interested, let me know! There is:
-Red-breasted ("pied")
-Blue-faced
-White
-Tuxedo
-Silver
@mooreavians It's understandable! Saturday would work but it depends what time. The weekdays work better for me since I'm available in the mornings and midday. I can private message you my phone and we can discuss a time and place!

(I can post more if you need them!)
@sueandthe6 These guys may not be here by this weekend. If your friend is still interested please let me know!! We'd still have 7-8 quail available.
@mooreavians Of course! Our red breasted does have a balding spot due to the fighting. I assume he's more submissive as I rarely see him starting fights.
@sueandthe6 and @mooreavians , thank for your interest! I want you both to have the chance to rehome these guys.
Our quails are about a month and a half. They aren't handled despite picking them up everyday when they were young. In terms on compensation, I think $3 per quail what people usually...
Hello! So unfortunately due to complications at home, we have come to the conclusion to sell our button quail. (Excluding our tame one.) This is due to funds at home being low, and therefore not being able to provide for them properly. I've done my best to keep the roos and hens separated, but...
Hello again! So now that it's been almost a month since our chicks have hatched. We are struggling to figure out a few of the colours for our chicks though. If anyone can help us that'd be wonderful! We aren't sure about genders but a few of our chicks are showing bibs!
