I was ok until we just hatched our first batch. I told hubby yesterday, no more eggs for me! LOL! I know it is weird, I just feel like they are undeveloped chicks in there. Even though, our layers (for just the purpose of eggs)have no roo in with them!
Woke up to one dead chick this morning. It was the one who had prolapsed and we had pushed it back in, it just didnt make it.
Our little guy that dried up and needed help out due to leathery membranes is still in the incubator. He had some of his yolk that wasnt absorbed yet. We pushed the yolk...
Our first hatch is officially *over*
Heres the stats:

Minus 10 from Candling
14 hatched, one died overnight the first night
4 needed help as they dried out from opening the bator too much. Two are thriving. Two had prolapsed guts/ or yolk? We put it back in. One is dried fluffy and...

What's an "automatic waterer" and where can I find one?
Thanks!
Our incubator is a GQF Sportsman. He googled GQF Water reserve or something and found them. It's like a bucket with tubes that keep the humidity up. We have to open the bator and add water to the pans at least once a day...
We had our first hatch this weekend!!!! We messed it up a little bit though. We heard chirping and ovserved peeping Saturday morning. The first was out by Saturday at midnight! We stayed up all night watching and taking the fluffed ones out because they were trampling their siblings and the...

We had a hen with an eye injury (we think) last year. We put her by herself and kept her quiet and dark for a week or two until it started looking better. When we tried to integrate her back in it never worked, they kept pecking her eye. We put her with a younger flock and same problem. We put...
How is your chicken doing? I have been on the net for 3 hours now looking for a picture that looks like our Ameracauna's problem and your's fit's it to a tee.
Ours , though, was walking around for a couple weeks with it's neck kind of crooked. Like it couldn't see out of the eye that now looks...
