Hi all! A newbie here- I just got 4 Welsummers from a breeder and have a call into him but I am anxious for an answer and thought you would help sooner...three have yellow legs and one's is more of a tanish. Is that a Welsummer or did I end up with one of a different breed? I hope not, I drove THREE HOURS today with three children 4 and under to get these guys!

will say I have 2 groups of welsummer chicks right now from two different breeders. Breeder A-distinct darker markings and bright yellow legs as day olds. Breeder B - more muted markings and the legs were a tan like color as day olds. The B group is now 2wks old and I do see the legs are starting to turn more yellow and as they feather in the markings are more sharp.

Not much help but maybe your tan legged one is from a different hen and the legs will get more yellow as it ages like my group B has.

Best bet is to wait until they are matured around six months or when they start laying.

Any other colors, it would be a disqualification.
