The chick pen is pvc pipe with yardgard plastic fence zip tied to the sides and top it is 5X5X5 so I can stand up in there and the chicks can flap till doomsday.:)
I love it!!! I’m a stay at home fur, fin, and feather mom. I can set one of those up in minutes tomorrow! Thank you!!
Me too. I’m new to chickens and had ordered eggs to hatch. I only hatched 5, and one of them died do had 4. 2 roosters and 2 hens. I babies them bad!
They both became terrors. The lady I got my eggs from died not breed any mean Roos. She has been working 7 years to help Barred Hollands rebound...
My small coop was purchased from a shed company. It is sturdy! Mine is coop 6x6 with an attached small covered pen of 6 x6 so total is 6x12 building. The delivery guy brought it on a trailer with a ramp that has rollers. So he slid it off of the truck then used a skid lift (like in warehouses)...

Pic attached.

A damp cloth, a q tip and tweezers.
I set the egg on the damp cloth, then wet the q tip and dampen the dry membrane. Make sure not to use too much near a nostril. Once the membrane is supple then I carefully pick just the shell...
I chose Barred Holland’s. I am looking forward to working with a breed genetically to try to bring back the breed’s qualities they should have. Suzanne (Coyle?) has been working with the breed for about 7 years and she has helped many of us get our stock. Recently talks of a Breed club have...
My “mean” rooster experience.
I have only had chickens for a year and am working with a specific breed. I babied my roosters as a chicks and onward. They were sweet hearts with me, until they got moved into breeding hens. They would fight me to the death to protect their hens. To them, I’m...
