    I also wonder why... mine hate it when I point the hose anywhere near them, let alone spraying it! They love the water usually, and go out during the rain... it's just the hose they are terrified of! Glad I'm not the only one who has this happening!

    Depending on the season and type of duck, if they are drakes they will grow a 'curl' on their tail feathers. Girl ducks have a loud quack, whereas boys tend to make quieter 'chattering' sounds... it's what ours do, anyway!

    We named our chickens after various mythological people/gods/etc... we have 3 hens, Zeus, Atlas and Cronous (Athena died a few months after she was born) and a cockerel called Thor. We named some of our new babies Sita, Hermes and Domestos... so yep, very strangely named chickens!

    To clip or not to clip wings

    They are too young to be clipped - try raising the sides of the fence... we put netting over the top of our chickens' coop. They don't really fly far though, as they know where they're being fed etc.! You can clip the wings if necessary when they are mature.
