Thinking about starting a commercial broiler operation

You had that all natural chicken didnt you lol. It is not as meaty as the CornishX, but I do find it tasty too! Unfortunately, they do not get as big as the CornishX and they grow pretty slowly... I was thinking of installing these big commercial fans in the hope of helping with the...

Thinking about starting a commercial broiler operation

These are great questions brandywine and I thank you for taking the time to formulate them. Maybe this will help you understand the real situation there: I believe that the reason for not having anyone raising broiler chicken for sale is due to the fact that we can easily get them next door...

Thinking about starting a commercial broiler operation

Thanks to all of you for the insight and ideas. Hatching eggs are so much more expensive though. When I look at Hatcheries, 3 eggs cost like 10-15 dollars... Maybe I am looking at the wrong places but from what I have seen, the hatching eggs are far more expensive than the chicks; not sure why...

Thanks a lot for your replies! So it seems that the CornishX might not be the type of chicken that I need to raise. Could anyone please provide me with a dual-purpose bird (good meat qualities and average layer)? Much Thanks!

Thinking about starting a commercial broiler operation

Hello! I am thinking about starting a commercial broiler chicken in a 3rd world country. The country imports their meat making it very expensive. I think this presents an opportunity to raise local Cornish-Rocks and sell them at a much lower price than it would cost to import all these...

    17-week pullets

Thanks for the advice guys. Indeed, I checked with a few places and the shipping prices are indeed pretty hefty :o ! Almost as expensive as a chicken! This being my first flock, I am a little scared of messing up and having all of them dead :| . I thought that 17-week pullets would be easier to...

    17-week pullets

Hello Chicken Family ! I am new to this website and raising chicken alltogether! I have read a few documents and books and I am gearing up to get my first egg laying chicken order placed. However, I wanted to start with 17-week pullets instead of baby chicks. I am going with the White...
