Thanks. I just sent my crappy netting back and have ordered the good stuff. As others have said, weight and polypropylene seem to be clues to how string the netting is. We shall see.
I’m thinking the same thing. We have a an Aussie who thinks she’s a guard dog. Chased the bobcat down one time. We had to call her off it. I’d hate to think what would have happened if she’d have caught it. She may not have won the battle. Although we’re on several acres, we are very close...
I’d love to hear from someone with experience. I just bought the same netting and am hoping it will work for a bobcat cat (who would get tangled before he reached any hens) as well as hawks...
I just purchased the same bird netting from Amazon to replace the cheap plastic aviary netting you get at the hardware store. Although thin, it seems string, so I’m thinking it will keep our the hawks, but what about bobcats? I’m having a problem with both...
Sorry to barge in, but can you tell if the darker cochin here is a roo? They are about 14 weeks old I think. It was much smaller than the gold laced as a chick, and was, and still very slow the feather out. But that comb and waffles are looking suspicious....
Blue Laced Red Wyandotte cockerel, hatched June 12. While he has lot of filling out to do, he is beautifully black laced and has a wonderful temperament. He is just now attempting to crow, so it is time to go. Will consider any buyer within in several hours of the California bay area
This little guy attempted to crow today so he is officially for sale. Anyone out there in California looking for a young blrw cockerel (13 weeks old or so in these pictures)?
I'm looking for a new home for my 13 week old blrw cockerel. Anyone here interested? He is young, but shows great potential... I'd hate for such a pretty and personable guy end up as chicken stew.
As a last resort,(along with Craig's list) have any of you heard of a rooster rescue in the...
Thanks for the feedback delisha. I'm going to start more actively looking for a home out my way for #1. I wish I could keep him. I'm thriiled to hear #2 may be a pullet. I got another pullet out of that hatch as well so 2 out of three isn't bad odds!
I've been wanting a few opinions on my two any way, so here are my two at 12 weeks. #1 is all boy - very tame and the prettiest of my chicks. I'm going to try to get better shots (top, rear end, natural stance) this weekend and will repost. Any opinions on whether is is worth trying to...
So, sadly it may be time to think about re-homing my 11 week old BLRW cockerel, Napoleon. Hatched June 12. Anyone in No. Cal. interested before I consider a rooster rescue our feed store recommended? He has got the sweetest personality and is the most beautiful of his three siblings. He's...
My hen had been laying reliably in her nest box, but after going broody and raising her chicks, she went back to laying in the yard. I'd been struggling for weeks - golf balls, fake eggs, locking her in the coop all day. Nothing woked until I read the post yesterday. Putting some dired leaves...
