What do you think your feed conversion will be at the end of your grow out. I am trying to do numbers now for a possible small meat bird operation next year. I saw from another grow out journal somebody said after 12 weeks they had a FCR of 5.4 for these birds. I don't want to do Cornish x's...
I have a big fox problem, does this hold them out? Is it heavy enough to keep them away. Anyway to mod it, so they can walk out on there own during the day. Still thinking about what birds I want to try for meat the cornish X seems to be a bit gross to me, but they do sell

What is the better money/time investment, the electric wire around or a cement floor? The plywood was just a piece of wood I was about to hammer into that window slot to protect the smaller one. They live in the giant old dog house which has a floor. That window was the weak point of that...
Will my hen heal? Anything I can do to help it? I saw the foxes, so I know it was not a raccoon. I have to figure out a floor. I would like to make it out of concrete but I have to figure out my cost. The smaller pen (dog house) has a wood floor so hopefully I am ok there.

I just can't figure it out. For a year they free ranged during the day and get locked up at night. no real problems, the loose dog got at them one time last year. But nothing like this. Was about to fall asleep and heard the rooster going nuts. my coop is two parts one part giant dog house...
I am worried about things living in the open space and I didn't want to spend the money, but I guess I will. How do folks using dirt floors keep out the foxes?
So I have an old coop that I have to put a new roof on. It has a dirt floor in it. I will also have to add a nice run. I am worried about keeping the dirt floor as we have foxes around here and I don't want them to dig in. Rats/Mice, not worried about cause my cats seemed to kill them...
