Aww, I'm sorry! I believe many hens start laying around 6 months, but mine have been anywhere from six months to eight months. My Swedish Flower Hen just started laying this week, and she was born in December. My Marans were born in January and no eggs yet.

I'm not trying to punt the question, but I think a lot of it depends on your demographic. How well do you know your soon-to-be customers? Are they interested in organic chicken feed? Do they butcher their own chickens...
