Rooster condo for overly zealous rooster

Thank you all for your suggestions, I really appreciate it. They are all juveniles so I like your idea of trying to separate them especially if we can’t keep those aprons on. I want everyone to be safe. I was thinking of adding more hens but this is a long term plan so maybe next year, nothing...

Rooster condo for overly zealous rooster

We have a 4 hens, (1 recently passed away from her crossbeak deformity) and 1 rooster. We had never planned on a rooster, we only wanted 6 laying hens. However, my husband and I love our rooster and all the noises he makes and his beautiful looks. Our hens and rooster are currently in a large...

9 month old crossbeak chicken latargic and not doing well

Thank you for your kind words. She was the sweetest little thing, came when I called her name, loved pets and her chicken bath days. I will miss her a lot. I will collect some samples from the other girls to make sure we don’t have worms. Thank you for the other information on the diagnostic labs.

9 month old crossbeak chicken latargic and not doing well

9 month old crossbeak chicken latargic and not doing well

My little crossbeak Americana is 9 months old and yesterday we found her just about upside down in the run of the chicken coop. I had started to notice that day that she was feeling unwell and was getting my husband to help bring her inside and that is when we found her laying on the floor. She...

    Rooster is henpecked

They are all 6 months. We live out in the country so we don’t have to worry about bothering anyone with his crowing. He only really crows in the morning for a few hours. Maybe he will crow more as he gets older?

    Rooster is henpecked

Awesome great idea! I searched the internet trying to find other roosters that got pecked on but I didn’t find much. I guess that’s why there’s a term henpecked haha. I’ll order some of those peepers. Thanks again!

    Rooster is henpecked

Hi everyone, I have a Rhode Island rooster and 5 hens, they are all hatchlings and have been raised together since they were born. I wasn’t planning on keeping the rooster but my husband and I really enjoy him and like his crowing in the morning. We also might hatch chicks in the near future...
