I was doing some research and I think it has wry neck. It's still alive, just the messed up eye makes her look dead. Disappointing, but I didn't expect every one to live. Thanks anyhow :')
This little chick hatched a while ago, about an hour, but it's eye seems to be injured or not fully developed and it won't stand or straiten out its neck. It also seems to be losing a lot of fluff when I pick it up. Does anybody know what could be going on?
I went up to shut the doors of my coops and saw one of my cochins jerking her head to the side????
I dnt know whats going on but she kind of tilts her head to the side a bit and jerks her head. I dont know if this is seriuos or not but i really need help
They definitely look like all boys. I would try lining up people to take them in, but maybe keep them together for now? My first batch of unsexed chicks I got from TSC I got 5 roo's and 1 hen, I feel your pain. Good luck though!
Is she maybe the roosters favorite? a lot of times a rooster will pick a favorite among all the hens and she gets overbred a lot, it happened to my hens and I had to separate her to let her heal. If he gets up on her a lot he could knock the feathers off and if the other hens see a bald spot...
I'm in 4h and have a rooster I'm looking to show, but over the winter he got some frostbite. I tried to prevent it but he has a large comb and got it anyhow. Its not so severe to the point where it fell off however, but his comb is black. I have looked for a while to see if that would get him...
My chickens like to peck at the polish ladies I have and I've learned if they are seriously injured take them to the side and let them heal up but you cant completely isolate her. Silkies are known to be at the bottom of the pecking order and if she is isolated too long she will be picked on...
