    Hi, sorry to hijack. Can anyone help me? Last week I went to a chicken show and purchased 2 birds, both silver laced wyandottes. One adult cockerel and one younger hen.. Although nothing stated it was younger.. But it still cheeps and doesn't yet cluck... I'm worried it's a boy... But...

    I also have a chick that won't walk or stand.. He or she hatched last night so it's still in the incubator. I think she hatched a little early.. I don't know the date the eggs were set though as I was on holiday when the hen started to brood it. But this chick still had a tiny bit of yolk sack...

    Can't walk

    Hello everyone, last night my chicks hatched. Unfortunately one had the yolk sack ever so slightly exposed. Today it has gone, but it's having trouble walking. Legs are not splayed, so any suggestions why. Or am I expecting too much from her too early as she was ever so weak after hatching...

    is it definately a buff orpington. my buff orpingtons dont have long tails like that one. they are more "cube" shaped :S
