    I did the one thing I tell my kids not to do! I stood over the brooder box with a 4 day old chick and proceeded to drop her on her head. She fell about three feet.     Oh man how much fun is this! It's warm enough here now ot take them out for a bit of outside fn so we brought the babies out to introduce them to their future home! It took a few minutes for them to move around but once they did oh man it looked like they were having a ball out there...

    Hit up your local lumber yards for pieces of wood that came off of shipping crates. Most of them will have tons fo it laying around. My first try out fo the gate at a Lowes store yielded me 4 sheets of plywood and probably 10 2x4's for my coop. Also as others have stated craig's list and...
