    Surviving Minnesota!

They hatched late on day 21 humidity was 42-45% and 70% at lock down to hatch. I have a feeling it may be due to many generations of inbreeding.

    Surviving Minnesota!

The parents were from a EBay "breeder" that I hatched out one of the hen had curled toes but I invited her to dinner before I saved eggs to hatch.

thanks I have culled the whole hatch as they couldn't stand and would fall over and just twitch. And I am definitely sending the whole flock to camp just sucks cause the hens were awesome looking.

Loving the chick pics Holm. Thought I would share a few from mine that hatched yesterday. I was very happy until I checked my Delaware incubator and found all of the chicks have curled feet like in the third picture. I am trying to decide whether to cull all of them or make boots for them. Has...

    Surviving Minnesota!

Sorry for your losses Ralphie. I don't know how your setup is but is a two legged predator a possibility? Speaking of cream legbar cockerels I have a 36 week old that I need to find a home for. I have no space for him this winter this is him at 28 weeks

    Pullets laying at 14 weeks

That was Ameraucan auto correct at work and I am positive on the date as I hatched them on my birthday. I think I have some pics of them. This is a poor picture but I think the blue one is one of the layers. As far as feed goes it is just a 18% all flock and free choice oyster shell.

Hello I have a 6 leghorn American cross pullets that will be 15 weeks old this Saturday. And they started laying this past weekend (12 eggs so far) and I am wondering if I should be concerned with possible future issues ie prolapse or? All of their moms and half sisters that i hatched started...

    Prefab coops?

Hello I don't mean to butt in but my math say you would have 675 square foot run. I think that would be plenty of space @84' per bird. I would look at least a 4x8 coop but more space is better, especially if chicken math kicks in. :)

    HALLOWEEN Hatch-a-Long 2016 w/ Hosts, Mike, Sally & BantyChooks

My first hatching experiment has been a good learning experiance for me. Out of my 12 CCL shipped eggs 3 were broken 2 were stinkers 6 were clear and the last 1 quit sometime after day 7. But 2 of my EE are doing just fine, loved seeing them stretching their little feet! I think I may be...
