    Cream legbar sexing

We didn't have time to do anything when we got evacuated but my guy is a McKenzie Fire fighter so he checked on all the hens every morning.

    Cream legbar sexing

Thank you I am just thrilled Momma was successful. I gave her the eggs 09/07 and then about 7 hours later had to evacuate my home with no warning because of the fires in Oregon.

    Cream legbar sexing

We have new babies!! I gave this sweet Momma some Black Copper Maran and Cream Legbar eggs and so far have one of each. Does the Legbar look to be a roo?

    He or She?

This is my newest mix hatched from a light brown egg and the roo is a Silkie. Is currently 10 weeks old and looks a hen to me but my other half disagrees because of how tall and proud it stands. Either way by far my cutest chick yet. The last is the Roo, and in the second pic there is a...

    Russian Orloff Hen?

That is a gorgeous rooster. I wouldn't mind having a rooster if he was kind to the hens and a looker.

    Russian Orloff Hen?

I do see some saddle ish feathers but not a lot of them and since there has not been any crowing?? My previous Roos where very obvious early off so when Rufus didn't get fancy or start crowing I assumed hen.

    Russian Orloff Hen?

This is a hen right? She is pretty aggressive with the rest of my flock and I have yet to see an egg out of her which has me questioning the couple droopy tail feathers and skinnier neck feathers.

    New chick anxieties and questions!

Chicks will move away from the heat when they need to cool off and if they are sleeping peacefully then they are probably not cold. They get very loud when they are cold.

    Bump on chicks shoulder (tumor)?

You where right it was her crop . Everytime I think I got this I'm no longer one of those new chick folks that will panic but then the chicks are so cute and tiny.

    New chicks first timer!!

Reach from lower not higher, looming tall over them and reaching down is scary. My chicks love scrambled egg mixed with cottage cheese. I toss them tiny pieces then hold the rest in my hand so they have to come take it from me.

    New chicks first timer!!

When you pick them up is it in a cold garage with cold hands? I find chicks are a but loud to start with but if you snuggle them up to you where they feel secure and warm they calm down.
