It worked!!!!! She just popped out a soft shelled egg! Thank you so so so much for your help and replying to me so quickly! I can’t thank you enough! Now I’m just concerned it will happen to another hen but I’ll know what to do this time!
Nothing yet, I’m treating her as if she’s egg bound by soaking her in a warm epsom salt bath. I got some yogurt and calcium to give her. I’m just not sure how to feel her body for an egg or if this is even her situation. I’m really on edge because one of my other chickens died three days ago...
Today my hen was doing fun and then after free ranging for a bit this evening she suddenly tucked her neck in, put her butt way up and is standing still. She will walk but very slowly and she was trying to be alone. Please help!! anything I should check or be aware of that could cause this?
She drank a bunch and went to perch on me and threw up. It was very watery so I am hoping it’s exactly what you said. It was like 95 degrees and she was very thirsty and loves when I give her new water so she drank a lot.
Thank you so much for offering that was really kind! I’m happy to say I found some at a local livestock supplier in my tiny town, had no idea it was there. Thank again it means a lot!

I’m a little nervous pretty sure I will be waking up every 10 minutes to check on them! I have spent the last 4 months planning and building my coop so I’m pretty confident about it but I also know we have a fox and I don’t know how strong they are! I used hardware cloth around the entire coop...
We have a tiny house so they actually are in
Its been great bonding with them, that’s how I was at first too, I let them adjust for the first week then I started giving them more attention. I am hoping for eggs, but I’ve found watching chickens to be so therapeutic that I’d keep them even if...
