    Electric Poultry Netting

One other thing I learned. There really is no difference that I see between the 100' and 164'. I bought the 100' originally because they were labeled as heavier duty. I since bought the 164' and they were the same fence. I believe the price was similar for the 2 different sizes. Darryl

    Electric Poultry Netting

I did not cover mine at all. I have 2 fenced in areas, one section I am using 200' of electic fence and the other one is like 320' so it would be hard to cover. Like I said, I haven't had any problems with predators since I set mine up and I live in the woods right next to a creek with lots of...

How would you clean a coop you bought used?

I bought a coop that I found on Craigslist last week. It is an Amish built coop that I couldn't have bought the materials for what I paid for it. I'm a do it youselfer and always build stuff like this myself, but have eggs in the incubator and needed another coop and no time to build one and...

    Electric Poultry Netting

Ive had the premier fencing for 2 and a half years now, and it has worked great keeping predators out and the chickens in. In that time I've lost one chicken to a hawk and thats it. It's been holding up great as well. I'm very happy with it.

    ringneck help

I have a sportsman digital as well. I was having the same problem as you when I kept the humidity that high. I would break all the unhatched eggs open and 80% of them would be developed but dead most unpipped. I lowered the humidity to 25-30% during incubation and 50-60% at lockdown and my...

    Blrw breeding

I have a flock of Blrw's. I bought these as day old chicks from Blue Poultry last year. Early this spring I started hatching chicks and have about 60 now. I have Splash, blue and black laced varieties I'm breeding with. I have 6-8 young birds that appear to be golden laced. There is no...

    Hen acting eratic and clumbsy

Well, when I went out to the coup this evening there were five eggs. I have five hens in the coup so my guess is that she laid today. She was acting better than yesterday. I didn't know if it was something obvious to others that have had a chicken act that way before. Maybe she's been...

    Hen acting eratic and clumbsy

I don't know for sure if she is laying or not. Like I said there are 5 hens (blrw) in this coup. I have been getting 3-4 eggs a day since before Christmas. I don't know which ones for sure are laying. I could probably look at them and find out. I am in Maryland.

    Hen acting eratic and clumbsy

I have a couple rabbit hutch style pens that I have near the coup I could do that with. They are all on laying mash and free range during the day.

    Hen acting eratic and clumbsy

She was born last July. I don't know how well she is eating, and can't really say what her poop looks like either. I just noticed this this evening when I was out collecting eggs. I don't think she's molting. Her feathering actually looks very nice. The only thing I have noticed is that...

    Hen acting eratic and clumbsy

I noticed today that one of my hens is walking low to the ground (not upright like she would walk) and weebling around like she's drunk. She was also very skitish almost like she was on speed or something. She was with the flock in the yard foraging. She doesn't look sick, just acting funny...
