Looking for Blue Wyandotte fertilized eggs

Yeah. And you just don't know who your dealing with on ebay. Time to study up on colors and how to get what, so I'll know what color to breed to my BLR hen to, to get the colors I want. :)

Looking for Blue Wyandotte fertilized eggs

Thanks. I saw some too, but just not sure about animals being sold on ebay. Guess I'll just have to look for and buy a Wyandotte rooster that will produce the colors I want! Might be a safer bet than shipping eggs! :)

Looking for Blue Wyandotte fertilized eggs

Does anyone know of a Blue Wyandotte breeder that has fertilized eggs for sale? I know it's late in the year, but my Blue Laced Red Wyandotte hen has just now gotten broody. She raised a clutch of barn yard mixes last year and did a great job! So now I want to get Blue Wyandottes for her to...

4 1/2 month old Rooster thats trying to be a daddy!

Junebuggena, his breeder said that his father was a splash Brahma and Orpington, and she thinks there's another breed in there somewhere. The only difference between him and my cockerel is that he had a couple big grey markings on his sides. When I showed a picture of them to the breeder, she...

4 1/2 month old Rooster thats trying to be a daddy!

Thank you Ridgerunner for all that information! That's extremely helpful! I wish the cockerel would do a little dance, but he just tries to sneak up to the hens and they've gotten pretty quick with giving him the look! LOL! The poor pullet just tries to get away from him and into the bushes...

4 1/2 month old Rooster thats trying to be a daddy!

Ok, here are some pictures I just took today. The first one has the 3 older hens in the front and the cockerel behind them. The next picture shows the pullet behind the blue Orpington hen. The blue Orpington hen thinks she's in charge of the flock, but the one that's really in charge is the Blue...

4 1/2 month old Rooster thats trying to be a daddy!

They will be 5 months old on the 3rd. Yes, I'm sure! I saw them right after they hatched out while they were under my broody hen! That was July 3rd. When one of my Wyandottes went broody, I bought fertile eggs from a local breeder. I put them under my broody hen and she sat on them for 21...

4 1/2 month old Rooster thats trying to be a daddy!

I would hate to have to separate him. I figure, if I did that, then he won't learn any manners from the older girls. I let them free range in our yard and there are lots of bushes and trees. When he's being really obnoxious to the pullet, she will run into the bushes where he cant try to breed...

4 1/2 month old Rooster thats trying to be a daddy!

I only have 4 hens. 2 of the hens are a little over 2 years old. The 3rd hen is almost 2 years old. The 2 oldest ones are Wyandottes and the almost 2 year old is a Orpington. The pullet and Rooster are both going to be 5 months old on the 3rd of Dec. and they are both barnyard mixes. I think the...

4 1/2 month old Rooster thats trying to be a daddy!

He is twice her size! She's pretty close in size to the other hens. I'll see if I can take their picture with them together tomorrow.

4 1/2 month old Rooster thats trying to be a daddy!

He's a big boy! But thought at 4 1/2 months old, it was to soon for him to try to breed the girls. I hope he will calm down some. Here he is next to his sister. Sorry the picture quality isn't very good. Hard to get them on the move. :-)

4 1/2 month old Rooster thats trying to be a daddy!

Is it unusual for a 4 1/2 month old rooster to be trying to breed all the hens? He started trying to breed his "sister" (Not related but hatched on the same day and raised together by my broody hen.) He tried to jump on the 2 oldest hens, but they let him have it! He still tries to sneak up...

Soft shelled eggs and now egg bound

Thanks Kathy! I'll try to call you late morning if that's ok. Looks like I'll be making a trip to tractor supply! The closest one to me is about an hour away. It's a little smaller than others I've been to. Last time I was there I didn't see any injectable meds. The only chicken antibiotic...

Soft shelled eggs and now egg bound

Hi all. Need some help. My Blue Orpington hen was egg bound a couple days ago. With soaking her twice for a half hour each an hour apart, then blowing her dry, she did poop out what looked like scrambled eggs. It was very light yellow. Then the next day found a shriveled up soft egg shell...
