now i could be incorrect but i think the eggs need to remain pointed end down until they go into lockdown then they could be laid on their side. otherwise looks like a great setup!

so far ive had zero luck with them. but i havent tried them with my adult birds yet either.

the 5 gal. bucket was sitting on the floor of the brooder and the nipples were mounted about 3- 4 inches from the bottom. i could try it without as much water in the bucket.

ive got 79 coturnix going into lockdown this evening. hopefully i have a good hatch. started with 120 had alot of infertiles.

i primed them to get some water into the cup while they were watching me. all it took was one to get curious then the rest followed suite. i just wish they could trigger it on their own.

it did say something in the description on them that they were for juvenial and adult birds. didnt mehtion chicks. so basically what ill do is try using it again in another week to see if the birds are strong enough to trigger it. if not ill wait another week. i havent built my watering system...

has anyone tried the horizontal water nipples? i cant seem to get my two week old coturnix chicks to take to them. they have a small cup on them that will hold some water once it runs out they arent able to get more. almost seems like they cant trigger it to put out more water. any ideas on...

i just use the rattle can aluminun spray paint! ive found that if you paint a heart shape its alot more productive than any other shape. the diamond shape was a close second though. but the key is it has to be rustoleum no other brand will do.

and yesterday while i was at work the chirpping in the incubator must have drove our cat nuts. he scratched the crap out of my incubator. thats not a good thing seeing as how its just a foam hovabator.

well as of this morning i have about 50 chicks hatched out. still have a few with pips. and a handfull that dont have pips. ill post the pics this evening. now im ready to start a new batch.

i have 72 in there.
