    Question about temperature and sleep

We are near Rosamond Elementary. I have never seen a raccoon, I wonder if the dogs keep them away? The only time they go in is for lightening and hail so far. I had them covered but it blew away which is why I am rebuilding. My Cayuags are very very nice to people but we do have one Daschund...

    Question about temperature and sleep

There is no need to. They are locked in an enclosed pen that house the coop and pond. When they were ducklings they had to be in the coop at night. I do understand it would be safer but since they cannot fly and we are in the city, with their hound (protectors) they are good to go. They are...

    Question about temperature and sleep

My Cauyagas are 21 weeks old. Last night in Riverton Utah it got down to 43 degrees. My duck babies have a coop to sleep in but at 11pm, 215am and 4am they were sleeping in the pond. I guess I just need to stay in bed and not worry about them But I want to (no not really) cover them with a...

    Food 'no nos' for Ducks

I had a 3 random tomato plants start up in the duck pen - our compost bin used to be in that general area, I though oh how funny is that. They were about 12 inches one day, gone the next.

    Can we see everyone's Waterfowl

I would not have a problem utilizing the meat but there would have to be someone to handle all of that for me because I would not know where to begin, especially as an "urban farmer"

    Can we see everyone's Waterfowl

My cayugas are now 21 weeks old. I have pretty much determined that I have one male and one female. I have had no eggs. I spoil and love them relentlessly. I ask for eggs. I must not be giving them something they need. I have done everything I have read but if they do not give me eggs I still...

    BEIs and Cayuga pictures please...

I am not sure how often people read here but I have a question. I was up about 4am this week and since it was a lovely morning I sat outside with my ducks. I noticed a smallish creature scurry from behind their pool into their coop. A SMALL GREY MOUSE! He absconded with some food and I chased...

    Utah!

Thank you! Much like my boys and my dogs it is highly possible that they are a little bit spoiled. Oh as for being able to have them how does the old saying go, "It is better to beg forgiveness than ask for permission."
