Yeah I feed them...lol. I'm going to get more feed today and goin to get a higher protein and hope that will help. They do a lot of free ranging and I wonder if that is considered exercise in a ducks life...haha. But I promise they eat, lots! Could they have worms that's causing them to not gain weight?

I would consider free ranging exercise. I believe that when showing heavier breeds they suggest you don't let them free range much so they can put the pounds on. Your ducks don't look thin to me. Standard weight for Cayugas is 8 pounds for the male and 7 pounds for the females.

An article I was reading recently on keeping runners thin for show, had the water bowl and feed dishes 30ft away so that they had to run back and forth from water to food. So if the water is far away from the food, they could be exercising like that too. (personally I keep them separated to keep the mess down

I am a new duck owner, but my Cayugas have very Black feet and Black bills, these pictured seem to have some orange

These are mine, now they are only 7 weeks old (the bigger sized ducks) the others are baby photos)

I am not sure how often people read here but I have a question.
I was up about 4am this week and since it was a lovely morning I sat outside with my ducks.
I noticed a smallish creature scurry from behind their pool into their coop.
A SMALL GREY MOUSE!
He absconded with some food and I chased it away.

What should I do and how should I be rid of him/her?
I cannot use poison for fear of harming my ducks.
I am worried 'its peskiness' might bring lice or mites or unwanted general 'crap' to my coddled Cayugas.

@deannamil I would start by getting their food off the ground. I have a system where their food and water is hanging, and not much, if any ends up on the floor of their coop. I trained them to drink from chicken nipples, so their water is contained at night as well. During the day, they can dip their heads in the stream or pond, but at night, their coop is clean and dry. The more food and water on the ground, the more likely you will have pests. You could try some traps, maybe in an area that is too small for your ducks to fit in. I would hate to have a duck bill or foot caught in a trap though!
