    I am so sorry. I lost one of my favorite chickens to the neighbor's dog the other day. She was my lap chicken. We live and learn, but it still stinks when it happens.

    That's awesome!! I have two black JG hens, two roos that were supposed to also be JGs and one hen that may be a cross of the two breeds. That one is responsible for the first egg. I found another one this afternoon.

    Mine are right at six months old and I was wondering if I'd see any eggs this year since the days are getting shorter. I did start letting them roam our (almost) two acres a month or so back and they love it. Maybe yours will start in the next couple of weeks.

    They are growing like weeds and actually look like chickens now. Today they got some branch swings put in their run but they haven't checked them out yet that I know. Maybe two of the five are Jersey Giants, but I'm not holding my breath.

    I got them at Tractor Supply. I had planned on getting RIR, but they didn't have any and I was coming home with chickens, dangit! I looked Jersey Giants up and liked what I read. I'm wondering if they are actually going to be blue?
