    Anyone use SAND in the run/coop

    My pap has bags of sand in the bed of his truck for winter.. He said I can have it for my chickens in the spring/summer. It's All Purpose Sand by Quikrete, and I've seen that it does have different sizes of grit/pebbles' in it.. Will it be ok for my chickens??

    I have an ameraucana hen, her comb is pale, and she hasn't layed any eggs for a week so far and she is only a year old. I don't know if she is going to molt or what. Please help, me find out why? :(
