We are using Manna Pro Organic......they are moved 3 to 4 times daily in a tractor and are gaining as quick as ones feeding 24/7 it appears.....I feed them twice a day and at 4 weeks, they range for the most part....they seem more excited about being moved than the red feed dish getting...
We havent had any snake issues at all here....we do have a larger than normal amount of road runners and they eat snakes I think.... I think that may be a blessing for us. I have 8 hens and all but one are laying....we are getting 7 a day for the most part....even my Americauna is laying daily...
I understand this poll is tilted, but, I needed a way to find out if the majority was desgarding them....it actually worked for what I needed to hear. Had I read in this forum prior to getting my roo I would not be having such a good time with him....I hear so much in the way of complaints that...
Looks like most want or have a roo so far. So, Im thinking its just a few that wont or dont tolerate any issues or even a possibility of an issue from a roo regardless if its from experience or just from what they have heard....I was sure starting to think roos were disgarded on a scale more...
Okay- Ive been getting the one hen that lays one a day and she only missed one day since she started, today I go out to clean, feed and water them to find an early egg.....I thought it was odd she laid so early from when she has been laying but no biggie.I clean head to the house and start...
That makes the most sense to me. Know who you are before getting one. I had no issues eating the young cockerel that was not working out....he was a very pretty bird and the more I think about it I should have tried to rehome him because he came from the same mix as the roo I have....so, he was...
Haha.....not yet. I am all proud about having two sitting on the counter though. She's giving one a day pretty strong too. Only missed one day since she started. The others sure look ready but I've thought that for a couple weeks now.
Thanks Lazy!...Im trying to figure out how so many mention them being loud....I know if you are in town and the roo is close to the house that it possibly can be loud but honestly I am missing something, I can not hear my roo and he is within 20ft of my bedroom window, Even if I tried and did...
Understand that. I had to get rid of a cockerel because my roo and him were starting to clash....I hated to do it because so many disgard roosters but I had one already and he was the one who best fit my scenario. This is another reason I want to learn more about this....where do all the...
Okay, after doing a little reading on BYC I was kind of surprised at some of the replies as to how bad a rooster experience was to some, I understand it....I also understand the good side of things with a roo, this got me to thinking and I'm curious as to how many think a roo is valuable to the...
Rooster are not just to breed. Roosters are not all the same. Roosters do not always wake the neighbors.(mine are 1/2 mile away! lol) even if they were close my roo doesnt make enough noise to even hear in my own house. My Rooster is no hassle and is worth more than his "Organic" feed and work...
