they may let you bring them. Ask for them to manually inspect them instead of xray (radiation). I know of several persons who hand carry them onto planes going overseas from the US, so I would be inclined to try. Another idea would be to put them into a package of some sort, to cause less...
I just use the regular seeds. I buy mine at the local garden market. I guess you should make sure they have NOT been irradiated. This renders the seeds sterile. I know they do it to the niger/thistle seed that is imported, but they might do it to the sunflower as well.
We have wheat sprouting to make juice, then the chickens get the roots and such left over. I pull it apart into small clumps. They finish tearing it apart. I also sprout a 50/50 mix of BOSS (black oil sunflower) & Safflower. They really love this. I let it grow out for 10 days. I love what...
instead of drilling the holes in my containers, I used an ice pick heated up on the gas stove to punch holes in the lids & bottoms. A little smoke/smell to deal with, but, nice round holes that drain well.

Im partial to the middle one...this was supposed to be a reply to a group of three roos. a gray frizzle on top, but I like the middle one pictured better.
I guess I now realize how lucky I am in that I have an organic feed supply only 40 minutes drive from home. It would really try my resolve if I had to order & pay shipping to boot. I believe the organic, natural method of caring for my birds is teaching me patience. I want to go buy new birds...
looks great! glad to see the kids so involved. always glad to see another NE Ohio on here. also glad to see that the flock is as collective as the artwork in the coop. a variety of colors is always a bonus.
