It's horrible! They are SO mean to the gals at the bottom of the pecking order! I've decided that I can't see or hear it anymore--and if I go in to the coop after they are settled, it riles them up again and it starts all over again. So I leave them alone after dark.

My father came for a week to help build the "coop" (what an understatement!!!) A few weeks later he sent a plaque to hang on the wall of the "foyer" (the storage room)....a LONG list of possible names...the winner was "Circle 4p Ranch"--with it's own brand!! stands for the 'pampered poultry...
Yep...my chicken-lovin' fiance just layed in the wiring for the lights and outlets for water heater/timer lamps etc this eve////while I constructed yet ANOTHER version of a roost area---saw a great idea here for 2x4 roosts with a slide out pan under to catch the poo///should help keep the mess...
Thanks for the feedback....yes, "Rose" had a good day--out having fun in the yard with her pals, picking at bugs and ranging normally--when I picked her up to look at her backside, the vent looked clean (finally), pink, moist and open! Apparently that's all good!
