Sorry to bring up an old thread but did you ever find out the issue? or did it keep happening? We just had the same and have 2 older (3 years old) and 4 youngsters that have laid for 6 weeks fine) but not sure which laid it yet. Thx Chris
I know this is pretty pointless but am really upset right now and just needed to ask though probably know the answer already.
Our fave chicken was attacked by mine and a neighbors dogs earlier and cut open her stomach and under her wing. It was all a horrible blur and I was so close by that I...
Hi, sorry not the reply you need but I have the same problem (in Santa Cruz Mountains) and no-one wants to take them. I posted in my local feed supply too but nothing. Until you find someone you could try putting him in a dog kennel at night, with some bedding and covering with a blanket...
Actually I think that the egg laying slow down is, like you say, the seasons changing. One of them just went into full moltdown, overnight though the others aren't showing any signs of molting yet. He is chasing them all around but most of them pretty much beat him off.
He did just let rip...
Sorry don't want to hijack this thread but someone suggested posting a link on a local thread about a free Rooster we have that we would love to go to a good (none oven) home. He's an Americana, lovely white and tan coloring and only 5 months old. Supply and feed guaranteed a pullet!!! We are...

Thanks all, so I checked all their feet and no mites (just pretty even, nicely formed scales) but I cleaned them anyway! I then checked the skin where the feathers grow on their rumps, necks, backs and under their wings but nothing found so thats good news. I got some electrolytes today and...
Thanks, treats are mainly pasta and corn (not as much bread) but I guess pasta has flour in it too.
She was very hungry this morning but still walking bow legged and pointing both feet inward (making her waddle). Her balance is off and she has to right herself all the time.
My sister in...
Hi, I am almost dreading asking this question as looked up marek's in great detail but thought it wouldn't hurt to see if anyone has any other suggestions advice.
My little poppy was just seemingly stuck down the side of a wood pile, head first. Nothing appeared to fall, its just like she...
