In my opinion they are all different, I have Red stars and they have yet to slow down during any weather chance. They are 1 1/2 years old. I think I read somewhere that they slow down at around 3 or 4 years old. I do agree with you and like to let nature take its course so I don't create any...
So my two blondies (white chickens) I got at the tractor supply store this year. I don't know what breed they are. They are completely white with bright red combs and lay brown eggs? Any ideas?

The coop is 8x5 and the run is 8x16, we got the concept from montansandy's coop we really like it alot. I am really glad I made the switch to sand as well.
