I have never done a shoe but I got to thinking would it be possible to make the shoe like a "Hi top" you know something to brace the ankle in to aliment with the foot.
I don't know if this is very helpful but it is a thought.
did you put them back in the incubator it looks bad so chances of the hatch is very low at this point.
all I can suggest is to place them back in for hatching and see what comes off just keep an eye on them you may have to help with the hatch but with the shell being broke the shrink wrapping...
how far back is the chick missing the beak if its to far back I fear that the chick may not make it.
It will not be easy for it to eat/drink but chicks do sometimes surprise you with the way they adapt to a handicap.
I have a pekin who's foot is bent in words but is able to walk around he is a bit slower than his siblings and the smallest of the bunch but he is a fighter I have not done anything for him as he is on the foot "flat" while he walks.
Could you post a image so we can see how bad it is.
Yes cats are known to stock there pray so yes put the wire up this will keep him out double check for any holes in the fencing as the cat will keep looking for a way in.
That's correct hens don't crow but may pat do to heat.
Thanks for your support.
I will see in the next few days if he pull's through but with his issues with walking and not eating/drinking
I will have to put him down at the end of this week as I don't like to see them suffer any more than they need to.
Well today I am giving them some electrolytes and vitamins to see what happens.
I think the gray chick will not make it he will not eat or drink and just lay's on his belly and seems to sleep a lot I had to force him to take a drink of the water mix.
so I will have to see in the next few days if...
Well I had a chick hatch yesterday I been noticing some problems with it.
Problem 1 I noticed he has been breathing through it mouth like you would see if it was to hot but I hear "gurgling" like fluid sound's
He chirps fine i'm just a little concerned with how he is doing.
Problem 2 he is...
Well it looks like some how the chick broke his beak and was in the wrong position as he had his head tucked under his wing and it was dry in side of the shell.
I had the humidity at 59 to 60% as I had problems keeping it steady but I feel that I could have saved him if I opened the shell...
well its now 10:30pm @ 9AM it will be 38 h's
I feel that the chick's time has passed and I think I should have done something yesterday at 10pm as its chirp sounded week as time passed and movement stopped I believe I waited to long.
In the morning I will crack his shell open and see what had...
