Thanks. Had one more hatch this morning so we made it to 16 out of 20. Four left with no progress. Sunday was the 21st day so I'm thinking I'll wait until Thursday just in case.I am concerned about leaving the eggs in a few more days as dirty as the bator got. I was even wondering if I could...
on the 21st day 8 hatched yesterday and 7 so far today with one pipping now. Out of 20 eggs I've had 15 make it so far. I couldn't be happier with my LG and my first try. I was so sure I wouldn't be able to get one egg to live I think I did everything wrong in the book.I pretty much ignored them...
It's fine but I ended up helping it, the membrane was stuck to it. No other chicks have had a problem. We have 8 hatched and 11 to go. I'm worried about leaving the chicks in there all night they sure are hyper and all over the place looks like their playing football with the unhatched eggs.
Anybody? HOw can you tell if the membrane is getting too dried out? I haven't touched it and the chick is moving around. It has the egg cracked about half way around but isn't working the crack it and hasnt for hours. Its just keeping its beak out the hole it made.
2 so far others trying theres one I'm worried about it's got the shell broke and slits in the membrane but hasn't made it through it yet. Is that normal? The other 2 that hatched broke through the egg and membrane at the same time.
Murphy's Law at work I guess, the temp is dropping fast and humidity is climbing. Have towels wrapped around bater but it doesnt seem to be helping temp is at 92 and humidity is at 70 and climbing. Sorry it's day 20 not 21
It could be a pair. We had a pair here for about a month. Then a single one came and the pair kept chasing it off. When we didn't see the pair anymore and just one we assumed the pair left and the single one came back. Guess we'll know in a few weeks.
"'If you want to be immune from chicken poxs just go into a chicken coop and let a chicken fly over you." One of my brother in laws swears this is why he never got the poxs when all his brothers came down with them.
This one is about chicken eggs, take an egg and write your babies name and...
We have a few that visit in the fall and spring then leave. This year we have one that seems to want to stay, the others have been gone a few weeks. It's took over our pond and wont let our goose and duck in the water. I'm wondering if it's because it's spring and mating season and it will...
