So we got a new 4 month old silkie pullet yesterday. She has been eating, even took some popcorn as a treat today, but I haven’t seen her drink anything? I trimmed her crest cuz it was huge, which she seemed to have a hard time getting the popcorn after, I assume because her depth perception is...
I just trimmed her crest today so she could see. She was missing her food and treats after I did, I think because now she can actually see correctly & her depth perception is off since it’s different without all the fluff lol
Lol that’s just the way the light was hitting her when I took the pic, she’s all black with a tiny bit of brown around her neck. One of her hatchmates was brown
I know it’s so hard & then sad to see them go when you’ve taken care of them. I got a 3 month old black one for free from a super nice lady on FB that took pity on my story that is supposed to be a pullet. Her comb is def different but she’s also non-bearded. Fingers crossed lol . If these other...
The little one was the smallest of them all, I thought because it was the runt but maybe just because she is the only female hahahaha. Silkie problems :fl
I hope at least 1 is a girl lol. I had 4, 2 slightly older ones I just had to rehome because they started crowing ugh. Have a lead on 1 or 2 actual hens in case I need to get another if the one turns out to be the only girl so she isn’t alone
So I have 2 silkies I got from a lady. They are hatchmates but one is 1/2 the size of the other. They are supposed to be about 3-4 months old. Does this look right? And what gender would you guess they are? Thanks in advance!
I live in Brandon, FL and have 2 silkie roosters I need to re-home. One is black and one is blue. Sadly I can’t have roosters where I live. They are about 5 months old and are free. If you are in the Tampa Bay Area and are interested let me know. Thanks!

So I want to make a spray for my yard to kill the fleas for my dogs, and also to help with the flies, mosquitoes, etc. I want to use mostly cedar oil but add a bit of permethrin as well. I live in Florida & the pests here are unbearable right now. My girls free range so would the permethrin be...
