So I have 2 silkies I got from a lady. They are hatchmates but one is 1/2 the size of the other. They are supposed to be about 3-4 months old. Does this look right? And what gender would you guess they are? Thanks in advance!

The age sounds about correct. Silkies are very difficult to sex. Most peeps have to wait until they ether crow, or lay eggs. Most certainly peeps that are exclusive breeders are somewhat able to determine the sex by their experience and observed behavior. I'm not one of those, so no guesses here.
WISHING YOU BEST,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, and :welcome

I hope at least 1 is a girl lol. I had 4, 2 slightly older ones I just had to rehome because they started crowing ugh. Have a lead on 1 or 2 actual hens in case I need to get another if the one turns out to be the only girl so she isn’t alone

Just went through this myself...got the silkies from a breeder in hopes of having pullets, but all three ended up crowing. Breeder gave me two more because she felt bad, and they both ended up being boys. Just rehoned the last two on Wednesday. I'm afraid to try again, but wish I had a pullet.

Yours both have quite a bit of comb at thet age to be girls, and in the last pic, the one in the background is standing awfully tall. They was one of the very first indicators for mine.

I know it’s so hard & then sad to see them go when you’ve taken care of them. I got a 3 month old black one for free from a super nice lady on FB that took pity on my story that is supposed to be a pullet. Her comb is def different but she’s also non-bearded. Fingers crossed lol . If these other 2 are boys I’ll have to get at least another girl so she isn’t lonely in her little coop. My other girls are LF & are, quite frankly, bitches to the silkies lmao. Have another lead from a breeder in my area but those are kind of expensive but that’s how it goes. The older they get to be able to tell the price goes up. Such is life right?

The bigger one, would say cockerel, tail feathers look like my roo. The smaller one could be pullet. Again, tail feathers. As I found out just today, you can't always tell by the comb.
IMG_20180906_203234.jpg this black beauty, named BooBoo, laid an egg today. She does have a bigger comb, but the egg don't lie.
