Is this just a vitamin deficiency?

    Here's some closer pictures.

Is this just a vitamin deficiency?

Thanks for responding! She didn't have an issue when she was a chick or pullet. It started when she was about 1.5 years old, stopped over the summer and restarted in October. If I stop giving her the vitamins, her outer two toes start curling again and go back to normal within 24 hours or less...

Is this just a vitamin deficiency?

I would appreciate any insight on my hen's ongoing foot issue. The problem foot is circled in black, the healthy one in yellow. About a year ago, her toes started curling. After I did some research, I started giving her vitamin B supplements. Her toes straightened back out quickly. This cycle...

    Beak and toenail injury

Thanks for the response. I'm not seeing any of the other hens bullying her but she's definitely keeping to herself more. I have 6 EE who were raised with the rooster. I'm concerned that they're a little lost without him. I have 4 other hens that were raised together and I had before I got the...

    Beak and toenail injury

I think one of my EE injured her beak and one of her toenails. She's 15 months old and is eating and drinking normally, hasn't lost any weight and isn't limping so it doesn't seem to be bothering her much. She is sticking her tongue out a lot but other than that, seems fine. But I'd like to know...

Integrating flocks - pullets won’t leave henhouse

Update: Everyone is getting along well. In fact, everyone was dust bathing together the other day. It took about a week for things to settle down. The hens still chase the pullets a little bit, but the pullets aren’t hiding in the henhouse anymore. Thanks to everyone for the suggestions.

Integrating flocks - pullets won’t leave henhouse

Thanks for the reply. I’m just concerned about the pullets getting enough to eat and drink because the food and water is in the run. Maybe I should put some in the henhouse since they’re hanging out in there a lot. I’ll attach more pictures.

Integrating flocks - pullets won’t leave henhouse

Thanks. Should I put some food and water in the henhouse for them since they’re hanging out in there a lot?

Integrating flocks - pullets won’t leave henhouse

Thanks for the suggestions. I put a pallet in that they can run behind. I do have a stump but I’ll put more branches and things in. The 2x4’s are elevated. It’s what we used to set the brooder on when they were chicks. The big hens don’t jump up on them. There is dried grass on the floor. I...

Integrating flocks - pullets won’t leave henhouse

I have 7 Easter Eggers that are 5 months old - 6 pullets, 1 roo. I’m integrating them with my 18 month old hens (3 Speckled Sussex, 1 SL Wyandotte). They’ve been in the same run and have free ranged together all summer. This week we took down the divider keeping them separate in the run. The EE...
