Is there anyway to borrow or buy an incubator from someone asap. That's the only way I think you'll save them. They need a higher humidity to hatch atleast 65%. That close to hatch time is very hard to just let them go, I'm so so sorry! I've had losses and it's just hard to understand and...
I would consider stress, in which case it will just take a little while to lay again. But I wonder if you have a broody, which make a lot of sense. She just might want to hatch some eggs, you can break it or just give it time. Keep taking her eggs away and eventually she'll give up. It's normal...
I actually have had the same issue with my 2 weeks olds and I posted about it and didn't get much response. I added aureomycin to their feed a couple of days ago. I will be adding electrolytes on Friday when I can make it in to them farm store. I took out all the pine shavings and i'm just using...
They should be fine. I would just worry about the older ones being rowdy and trampling the younger ones. Just keep on eye on them and make sure the younger one is not distressed.
As old as they are, they should be fully feathered and should be fine. I would have them out all day regardless of weather for a several days and then back in the house just at night if your worried about them. But they should be fine, as long as the a nice dry coop to go into away from wind and...
I'm in Utah as well. I have had mine outside all together for a couple of weeks and they are 7-8 weeks old. I keep a heat lamp on them at night and it get turned off during the day.
I'm curious. Are some of these bantams? That would explain why some are smaller. You probably have a mix of standard size and some bantams. Do you know the breeds?
I will always favor Barred rocks, they are just a great dual purpose bird. They lay the best of any breed I have owned. If they all grow up together you shouldn't have to many issues with bullying.
I know it can be done. But I just for safety of my birds, keep my silkies in a different coop all together. I tried to Introduce a single silkie rooster once and it didn't work. But what I found works is adding one at time to my silkie pen/coop. I have a EE who just did not do well with my other...
