We have set a few traps for the fox and are hoping to trap it before placing her back outside along with making some upgrades to her pen area. I worry if I put her out too soon that her wounds will get infected so I was hoping to keep her inside for at least 2 weeks is that too long? We’re...
Not that I have noticed, this is definitely the most shedding she has done and is the first time she hasn’t laid any eggs since August. I was initially worried about her possibly not laying after the attack but she laid 2 days in a row and now we’re on 2 days that she hasn’t laid and since she...
Update: Donald is still doing really good I got her some vitamins/electrolytes to place in her water. She has however started shedding a good bit and hasn’t laid an egg in the past 2 days. Is it possible that me bringing her inside where it’s warmer is it possible that she molting?
I have a deep bowl in the tote for her to dunk her head but she doesn’t seem to be using it to dunk her head. She can’t freely access the tub by herself but I’ve been filling it up and helping her in there about every 4 hours and letting her swim and play for about an hour.
I will. I did notice after checking on her just a little bit ago that she has a little eye crust on one of her eyes, anything I can do for this? I’ve made sure to check her eyes everytime and this is the first time I’ve seen it.
During her morning swim I removed the bedding and added her a towel, and after her swim I added some spray and neosporin to her wounds. She’s began talking more to me when I go in which makes me happy to see her acting more like herself. Once it dries up outside I’m going try and find where the...
We had it set at 68 in the house but since we brought her in I bumped it up to 72, the bathroom tends to be more cool so I set the heater in there for extra comfort but have been making sure that it’s not too hot for her. She has a tote with bedding, food, and water that I cut the side out of...
I have bunches of saline syringes (I work in the medical field) so I will start doing that along with adding neosporin. She did have some feathers in the wounds but she has plucked most of them away herself. I can look over them in the morning and pluck any additional ones, for the most part...
Do I need to add neosporin if I’m using the banixx spray? We planned to get her 2 new duck friends at the end of February. As far as the predator proofing we have a fenced in yard (which the pesky fox jumped into and out of), and we have an enclosed pen that we put her in at night with hardware...
That’s what I’m hoping... the pesky fox got her twice on one side of her neck and once on the other. It’s officially been 24 hours since the initial attack and there haven’t been any signs that her air sac was penetrated thank goodness. I’m just worried about her. She’s our first and only duck...
Our poor baby Donald got attacked by a fox late last night. Luckily I heard her quack and noticed it wasn’t a normal quack and we went out to check on her, and jumped in between her and the fox scaring it away but not before he got some snips into her. We brought her in immediately and gave her...
