Definitely crowing! Extends his/her neck.....usually does this when another rooster somewhere in the area does it first. He/she clucks when it wants its morning bread. He/she puffs up to shake and it's hackle feathers (if I'm understanding what they are) puff out as well....I'm under the...- dorothy1

Need help identifying a chicken/rooster
It 'cock-a-doodle do's....(but not till around 8:30 am and not every morning...guessing lazy) Is this still a hen? Also, we've watched it fly 30-40 ft up into a tree to roost for the night....one website I was at said roosters can't fly...- dorothy1

I think it's a rooster.....dang he can fly! Showed up in my yard a couple mths ago. Can go vertical 30 feet to roost in a tree for the night. Likes bugs and bread. Not sure what to do with him. Honestly I thought he was a hen, till he crowed...might still be..lol (I'm a city girl) In box...- dorothy1

Hi, I had one show up in my yard about 2 mths ago (Aiken SC area)....loves bugs and bread. Think it's a rooster (occasionally crows) . Sucker can fly....honestly I never knew chickens could fly (city girl). We've seen him fly 30-40 ft up to roost in a tree. Don't really know what to do with...- dorothy1
