Once fully grown he and his siblings will be going to live on a city farm where my daughter works...that’s if I can part with them. My garden is not that long recoverd from my years of keeping chicken
Introducing Crispy the duck. He needed a bit more assistance so we opened the shell a bit more and let him do the work. He was well and truly ready.

Hopefully this will work. A foot stuck out briefly then went back in. The membrane just isn’t shifting

The membrane around the exit hole seems to be turning plasticky so my feeling is he will have trouble getting through.
If I was a nail bitter I would have no nails left!
