Clipping wings to keep hens safe??? Pic of fence included

I know it would be better to put netting over the top, but for aesthetic, monetary, and practical reasons...I am not. The current fence matches everything else, and if I were to put netting over a 4 foot fence it would make it really difficult for me to walk the 30 foot back to the coop to...

Clipping wings to keep hens safe??? Pic of fence included

The fence is just about 4 feet tall. I hate to do the one wing thing unless it's the only way to keep them safe. They seem to LOVE fly/running across their run and they will just nose dive with one wing...right? If that's my only option (short of raising the fence) then I'll do it. I just...

Clipping wings to keep hens safe??? Pic of fence included

I have done a search and the conflicting information just confused me, so I'm hoping some smart/experienced person will help me out! I did see the pictures on the learning page of the hen getting it's wings clipped, and it was very helpful. My 7 week olds girls are sharing a backyard with two...

Little Giant Poultry Fountain + Water Hose explained in depth **PICS**

Whippet, that sounds like a cool setup too. I scored the poultry fountains for $13 each. I'm not sure of the max pressure of this system, but the RV pressure regulator takes it down to 40-50 psi (I had one laying around). My biggest gripe is that the website (even the manufacturer's website)...

Little Giant Poultry Fountain + Water Hose explained in depth **PICS**

After much searching through the posts on the forums, I did not find much info on the Little Giant Poultry Fountain. Many things I've read about this fountain are not true at all so I'm trying to show what this little thing can do. First off it's important to realize how the fountain works...

    Bleacher type roosting bars...

Is the distance between the roosts in the picture 18 inches? It looks to be less, although it's difficult to tell in a pic. Thanks!

Great price on Little Giant Fountain (Auto Waterer)

It doesn't seem like I need ALL that stuff according to this thread... https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=33433 It seems they can be hooked up to a water hose with an adapter...doesn't seem that involved to me, but I am a newby, maybe I'm missing something! Anybody have...

Great price on Little Giant Fountain (Auto Waterer)

I have been going back in forth on making my own auto waterer or purchasing. This good deal made my decision for me...can't build something for this price. Got two...one for inside, one for outside! http://www.buytack.com/products-ranch/sale/poultry.htm Hope they are reputable...never...

Jack Russell + 3 week old Amercanus = miraculous recovery!

Yeah, I knew not to let her near my chicks, it was a total slip out the door when my hands were full thing! I don't know if they will be big enough to intimidate her when they are grown, but they are just prey to her now at three weeks. I plan to keep them separated by a fence forever...

Jack Russell + 3 week old Amercanus = miraculous recovery!

Just wanted to share what I consider a unbelievable recovery of my 3 week old Ameraucanas (Large Marge) after a run in with my Jack Russell Terrier (Bailey). A little background...I'm new to chickens, I have 5, three week old baby girls...2 Ameraucanas, 1 RIR, 1 Jersey Black Giant, 1 BPR...
