Not sure how I would accomplish this with such a big bird, I think I may be better off with modifying my “wheelchair” but thank you for your input although I could probably do with a towel my only concern would be how to get food and water to him
I’m sure I can figure something out... I was considering putting a strap over to hold him in/down when building the wheelchair in the first place, but wanted him to have as much freedom of movement as possible, not knowing he would just pull himself out
I can try...! But he is pretty good at getting the vet wrap/elastic wrap off his leg, so I have to assume he will be better at getting it off his chest and wings
See my problem with these and the chair I made for him(which seems to sit a little lower then pictures) is he always finds a way to free his wings and pull himself out of said chair... I only wrap his wings with a towel as not to put too much pressure on his chest (he is fighting an upper...
I have a chair, think I can have him in that for a long period of time? He does seem to have a way of finding a way out as soon as I take my eyes off of him
I mean this real looks like the way to go! The next few days I will try and put something like this together to get him wrapped up, and figure out a way to sling him up with food and water( that might be the toughest part) I really don’t want to be pushing anything until the pain meds really...
Ok... I see what your getting at, but how would I keep him upright like that, most fractures or bones take at least weeks to heal, am I really trying to keep him up right like this for weeks? And how would I do that? Just hang him from top of cage with towel or something?
I know... it really is hard to keep “downward” witch is why I made the wheelchair in the first place, and had and “extra” stick kind of positioned at an angle from top of leg to lower(almost top of foot) but could only do so while he was in chair, cause he can’t really lay down otherwise, may e...
Ok.... so day 3 from now, when I start to wrap for support what is best way to cover all bases here? If hip may be off too? I mean I am open to all recommendations at this point. I am very attached to him and have been caring for him on a daily basis and couldn’t bear the thought of him not...
Well.. he is in a home made wheelchair as well, but he is definitely fighting me moving it as well, it is most definitely uncomfortable for me to move for him, and he was trying to move him and the chair away from me while I tried to move his leg, I’m almost positive the vet said she took 6 x...
