Hatching eggs that are different ages.

Sorry for not being clear. We had twelve in total but we received them separately as two lots of six over the dates mentioned. I thought we may have to be lucky for all to hatch. We had committed to purchasing the second six but there was a delay at the suppliers end.

Hatching eggs that are different ages.

Hi Everybody, We purchased twelve hatching eggs for our broody Cuckoo Marans. We put six under her on the evening of May 16th. We put another six under her May 19th. Do you think we have a chance of hatching the later eggs? Or is three days going to be too long if the first six hatch on time?

    Will they starve?

The food level never goes down. We scatter some food underneath to encourage them to forage in the area but they don't seem to be catching on. All the birds are the same age and came to us at the same time.

    Will they starve?

Sorry, this is the type of feeder I was referring to.

    Will they starve?

We've always used a container with a spring feeder for feeding our chickens. Our new flock don't seem interested in using it at all. After 8 weeks, and various attempts at teaching them, they still won't use it. They are still here so must be eating something. Would they really starve rather...

    Gape worm?

Hi, Thanks for replying. By tonic, I meant vitamins, apple cider, minerals etc. Doesn't sound too good for my flock. I think we will keep them closed off and we don't intend to sell or breed from them.

    Gape worm?

Thanks for the replies. I'll do some digging regarding the antibiotics available here. Do any of you guys give a regular "tonic" for prevention?

    Gape worm?

Hi, Thanks for the reply. Yes based in the UK. I'll try to get videos. At the moment they are eating, drinking and pooping OK. There is one the seems to "yawn" on a regular basis and a couple that sound wheezy and are coughing/sneezing every now and then. There is also some head shaking...

    Gape worm?

Hi All, I've got a nasty feeling our small flock of 12 chickens has succumbed to a gape worm infestation. At least 4 of them are showing symptoms and one has died. I have Flubenvet Pellets. Are these OK to use on 7 week old chickens? Their ages range from 7 week up to 22 weeks.

Three seem clear, what about the fourth???

That's what you both seem to match with pic three and I would have to agree. Nice to have a random in the clutch.

The breeds listed and photos are not linked. I can only try and match them.
