Yes I’ve been giving it amongst peas, does this help with arthritis?
And I’ve separated the drake and tried introducing two of the girls and my Pekin wants nothing to do with the new runner and my runner just chases her around.
I can separate the pen into two for now. And she’s about 2 years old. I have been giving her extra niacin for about a month because my first thought was a niacin deficiency.
Hello everyone! So I have 2 Pekin ducks, both female and recently one has gotten very lethargic with arthritis so she isn’t walking a lot and may not be around much longer. With that, my other girl has been on her own and in need of friends so I went to find her another female friend. I ended up...
Thank you so much!! I really appreciate this! I just wanna get it before it gets really bad because I’ve been worried about bumblefoot since I got the ducks. I basically baby proofed their pen and when I let them free range they are in green grass so I’m not sure what they’d cut their foot on...
Hello! So I’m on here because I think one of my ducks has the very beginning of bumblefoot. I try to check my girls feet once a week but they absolutely hate their feet touched and I haven’t found a way to really grab them and check because they are so large but they do stretch their foot behind...
Hello everyone!
So I went to crack an egg this morning and there was a weird looking green “stone” you could say. I thought it was a lash egg but from the images I’ve seen, it looks nothing like it. It was very small like a bean and I cut it opened and it seemed to be a yolk? Could it be an...
THIS MORNINGS UPDATE:
My girl seems to be doing good, I just went to let them out and she was awake and aware!
however, there was only one egg so I am going to give her the calcium today and give her warm soaks and hopefully she can pass the egg. I did notice sometimes there is only one egg but...
i am new to owning ducks but I think at this age it is hard to tell. I have pekins and I ordered two female but at one point I had doubt that one was a male due to the quack but turns out my girls just have very different quacks! I know the drake feathers are a dead giveaway but like you said...
I hope that’s my girls case too! And yes I keep their stored food tightly sealed (I have a lot of predators including raccoons which are insanely smart) but I feed them morning and night and throw out any uneaten food away before bed to try and avoid rats at nighttime.
I did check their coop...
LATEST UPDATE: Daphne seems to be doing better than she was earlier. Normally I take them out (Daphne and Dolores, my ducks) and let them run around but today I kept them in so they can rest, mostly just Daphne but they are a pair and Dolores wanted to make sure her sister was doing well by...
