My great grandma is 98 and always tells me about her mother having chickens and how she wasn't allowed to pet them. I surprised her the other day with my precious blind Dominique hen "Roast Beef" who loves to be held. They were instantly best friends!
Her cat Ginny didn't even acknowledge...
I hate them, too! This one was dead, though, so it was much less scary. It made for a pretty photo, we found it in the parking lot of the State Park here in KY, it was stiff from the sun bearing down on it. Never seen one like it before!

As soon as I move out, into my own house... ♥ I want 5 chickens... Naked neck, wyandotte, leghorn, and a jersey giant... Probably won't end up those specific breeds, but they're my favorites, gaaah! I guess I'll let the boyfriend...
The males are generally twice the size of the females! And the males are about half the size of a cat. :) In the first picture, Hobbes isn't even 4 months old so he's grown a ton since! (They're only 7 months old even now, just getting fat for the winter)...~
