    Sexing 8 week old ducks

    I'm one of those people who have a female with curly tail feathers. She quacks though and is super small rouen/mallard (I think she was in wrong bin at rural king.) Also she hasn't layed any eggs either. But her quack is very prominent.

    That is just comical. That is eggsactly what happened to me too! I wound up selling three mallard drakes to friends for freezer camp. Then I went about 4 months later and bought 4 more. Out of those I only got 2 females. 7 ducks, 4 being drakes! Ugh!

    Today I started a incubation of 6 duck eggs. To bring the story full circle. Last year I bought 6 ducklings from Rural King. 5 of them were male and 1 female (my favorite Fiona). I sold to a friend 3 of the males. So now I'm down to Jumbo, Max, Fiona. I got the bug and went about 4 months later...

    Mallard hen or drake?

    That's funny, I have 4 drakes and 3 hens. I've already been thru this once by getting rid of 3 males. Then the new 4 were 2 and 2!! So I have 4 males now and 3 females. Wish I had all hens. But I love my firstbto big boys. Jumbo is a Rouen and he is his name!! Big!

    Female duck with male markings?

    I also have a female with curled tail but she quacks and has orange and black bill, and a little green on top too. But she has more brown feathering like female. No eggs yet, Too young

    Ideas? Rouen or what?

    Well I have 3 Rouens all right coloring, and the black is what is throwing me. Not sure how much he weighs. I have 7 ducks, 3 runners, 3 very Rouen rouens. It's Poppy who is the (black sheep if the flock) literally🤣 I got him at Rural King in the assorted bin. He is really too hig to be mallard.

    Ideas? Rouen or what?

    I have a duck that now is full grown and was thought to be a Rouen. He has Black to very dark brown head, white collar but has black not blue stripe like Rouen. Any idea what kind of duck I have? As you can see, the regular Rouen has green head. He's getting large like a Rouen also
