    Treats for young chicks?

Thanks for the confirmation I'm not being overly protective/worried about the food size 😂

    Treats for young chicks?

I started giving mine some crumbled up dried mealworms at 2,5/3 weeks too (afraid the whole critter would get stuck in their throats 🙈). Oh, and don't worry if they don't immediatly like a fruit or veggie, just offer it again another day. (cucumber was ignored the first time, now it's one of...

Please help me feather sex my newborn chicks :)

Not an expert, but my (as far as I am) educated guess would be that 5 & 7 are roo, and doubts about no. 4. But that's just on the development speed of the feathers. So wait a bit for others to reply ;)

    Our adventures at Chateau Plumeau

With some temporary fix to seal the openings, the chicks had their first full day outside. Didn't deter the little ones from hopping on my lap when I sat down for pictures 😆 Ranger and Onyx Jet and Riek checking out the forage-planter What greens does the neighbor have? The...

    Our adventures at Chateau Plumeau

No pics yet, it's stuffed with buildingmaterials now, but there's progress on the housing. The hwc is on the sides (except the doors, those aren't made yet), and almost all the edges covered with wood to avoid hwc sticking out or gaps in the seams. most walls of the coop are up, again except...

My baby chicken chest is a little big I’m new to this so I don’t know

Seems you're referring to it's crop (where the food ends up first before moving on), that's located on the right side and should be getting fuller each day and be empty /flat in the morning again. So your littl one is eating ok

    Another 'Hen or Roo' post..(Leghorn)

Happy you see what I mean too @Doc7 , both the smaller ones are like that, that more upright posture, higher wearing tail, sleeker... hard to catch on camera right, let alone all four together in their main postures for comparison.
