The one modification I will make will be to lay a wider roosting plank in there. They currently have 4, all about 2.5 ft long and about 1.5-2" wide. They seem to like them ok...

    Thanks - I was planning to leave the thermometer in there overnight, so I could gauge the temperature difference first thing in the morning and get a sense of exactly what you describe - how much warmer it is when they've been in there for awhile.

    Thanks ! Any advice helps at this point; I really appreciate it. I'm going to install a thermometer in there tomorrow so I can tell how much warmer it is inside the coop than in my backyard.
