My Goose and Gander are two years old. We bought them last year when they were a year old and just beginning to sit on her first clutch, she ended up abandoning the eggs. Raising geese and goslings is new to me/us.
My goose decided to make her nest against the house and not in the nesting...
I'm not forcing feeding her but simply offering her food and water from a tablespoon, she won't eat or drink from the bowls provided. she wouldnt eat this morning but she did drink a fair amount. I will pick some meal worms and chick starter today. I haven't got her on antibiotics other than...
Update: she seems to be doing better today. I've moved her into a larger pen inside by herself. She is moving around a bit but not much. She won't eat or drink on her own, I have to spoon feed her. I've been giving her room temperature oatmeal with a little yogurt mixed in and she has access to...
One of my girls was just by a dog earlier today. We managed to stop the attack before she was killed but she is injured. What I would like to know is how to treat her injuries: she is missing quite a lot of feathers on her back and breast, she also has a couple of puncture wounds on her back...
Thanks Centrarchid,
Is there a way to move this post to emergency forum?
She is doing better, ate and drank a little bit, and is trying to stand. I hope she continues to recover. How long should I keep her in the cat carrier?
Thanks Again,
EF

My hen, Henny Penny has been going back inside the coop after I let the ladies out for the day so I checked yesterday, no egg. Today I found my first egg!
Here is the lady who laid the egg.
And here is her first egg on the left and store bought large egg on the right.
May I join in? I have three girls; two buff orpingtons and a speckeled sussex. They are 25 weeks old and I have yet to see an egg. One buff has a bright red comb and wattles as well as the speckeled sussex. I've heard the egg song from but alas no egg, I am an anxious mama.
Hello,
Our family brought home three lovely ladies, 2 Buff Orpingtons and 1 Speckled Sussex, excited for them to start laying. I don't have any questions yet but I'm sure I will in time.
Cheers :-)
